Earth Day

A day to celebrate the planet that sustains us so beautifully and bountifully, and also to celebrate the creatures of this earth, and our experience of the earth. We express this experience through dance, artwork, movies, acrobatics, writing, and of course through music. All across the earth people express themselves through music, with a variety as rich as the landscapes and the plants and animals that populate them. Though the music takes many forms, the themes are the same. People sing of love, of home, of fear, of things that make us laugh, of struggles, and of the natural world around us.

Tonight we sing while the sun goes down. The fire rises higher as the dark settles in. Barefoot dancing and many people drumming. Laughter. Smiles. Beautiful voices and strong voices. Kisses and embraces.

We wake up to a dry world. No food for a hungry boy. No food for a hungry girl. Say hallelujah.

How can you spend a million dollars when there are homeless people in the world?

All these things that don't change, come what may.

Stir it up little darling.

Every little thing is going to be alright.
